Damas del Nare, Guaviare

DESCRIPTION

This session empowers participants to critically evaluate how tourism impacts the Amazon’s ecosystems—particularly its vulnerable fauna like pink river dolphins—and the livelihoods of local communities. Using the Damas de Nare Lagoon project in Guaviare as a case study, students will confront real-world tensions between profit-driven development, biodiversity conservation, and cultural preservation. Through interactive role-play and scenario analysis, they’ll bridge theory with practice, fostering empathy for stakeholders such as local communities and fauna inhabitants.
