AEP – A1-A2 – PORTRAITS IN PIECES – SELF-DIRECTED
DESCRIPTION
In this mediation, we’ll enter the imaginative and playful world of Arcimboldo’s portraits! We’ll explore how this unique artist used everyday objects like fruits, vegetables, and tools to create expressive faces, and reflect on how art can represent identity in surprising ways. Students will dive into their creativity by making their own collage portraits in Arcimboldo’s style using practical materials. Along the way, we’ll discuss how artistic choices—just like in embroidery or other traditional arts—can reflect the history, culture, and values of a community. Expect a hands-on, vibrant session full of artistic exploration, thoughtful conversation, and unexpected faces! Get ready to see portraits like never before.
