My first novel: Introducing Colombian and American Writers

DESCRIPTION

In this mediation, students embark on a journey through the captivating worlds of Colombian and American literature. Through engaging cultural introductions to prominent authors such as Gabriel García Márquez, Laura Restrepo, Ernest Hemingway, and Toni Morrison, students delve into the unique writing styles, themes, and cultural influences that shape their works. Through analysis of excerpts and group discussions, students gain insight into the rich tapestry of storytelling traditions from diverse backgrounds. The session culminates in a creative exercise where students reflect on what it feels to be Colombian like, drawing inspiration from the authors studied, fostering imagination, analytical skills, and a deeper appreciation for literary diversity.
